Microsoft has released a mobile version of Copilot for Android. The app offers free access to GPT-4 and Dall-E 3, which would normally be paid for.

Since mid-November, Copilot has been the umbrella brand for all generative AI functions in the Microsoft ecosystem and Microsoft wants to make its chatbot accessible to as many users as possible. After the surprising rollout of Copilot on Windows 10, the AI ​​assistant is now also appearing on Android smartphones. The Copilot app is similar to a re-release of the previous Bing Chat, but with a new branding.

What is noticeable is the presence of GPT-4 and Dall-E 3 in the mobile application. These models are typically only available if you have a paid ChatGPT Plus subscription. The Copilot app offers them free of charge. In addition to chatting, you can also get creative with the image generator. On the home screen you can use the slider to indicate that you want to use GPT-4.

Microsoft Copilot is available through the Google App Store. You don’t need to install the Bing search engine on your smartphone, but a Microsoft account is required. Each conversation with Copilot has a hard limit of thirty questions and answers. Microsoft took this measure a few months ago after Bing Chat regularly crashed during long conversations. From on Stop responding You can also end the conversation earlier. Chat history is transferred between the mobile and desktop versions.

No iOS yet

There is no sign of an iOS application for now and it is not clear whether it will be available soon. However, it seems to us that this is only a matter of time: we cannot imagine that Microsoft will ignore the large pool of iPhone users.
