Danish researchers have developed an LLM that can predict people’s expected life expectancy with 78 percent accuracy based on major life events.
AI offers answers to many questions, but this new AI model offers an answer to a scary question. The new LLM Life2Vec can determine people’s lifespan with 78 percent accuracy, claim researchers at the Danish Technical University. The model analyzes important life events and can therefore help the healthcare sector to detect certain diseases in a timely manner.
The Life2Vec tool, also known as the somewhat lurid “AI Death Calculator,” is an LLM that can determine people’s lifespans with 78 percent accuracy. This model is based on a transformer model, which is similar to the model used to train ChatGPT.
Instead of processing text-based data, the Life2Vec tool uses life events as data. These important life events include a person’s medical background, education, occupation, income, and marital status. The model was tested on a dataset reflecting the entire population of Denmark.
Socially relevant or ethically irresponsible?
According to the researchers, the model would be a step forward in predictive analytics and transformative healthcare applications. This would allow certain diseases to be detected more quickly.
With this model, the Danish researchers aim to improve the understanding of important events in human life by analyzing a wide range of data. It’s not yet clear whether the tool will be available to the public, although one may wonder whether they even want to know.
