ASUS ROG NUC is the first model introduced after the agreement of the Taiwanese company with Intel keep the NUC ecosystem alive, a great world reference in Mini-PC that Intel decided to end as its own line. Knowing the capabilities of ASUS, there was certainly no better partner to continue this series of compacts. And from CES 2024, we have proof.
The ASUS ROG NUC deviates from the usual Intel NUC design line (generally in a square format) and chooses an aesthetic that could easily pass for a gaming console. Its dimensions remain really compact, with volume 2.5 liters and dimensions of 270 x 180 x 50 mm, but its design is undoubtedly more attractive, with ARGB lighting and the ROG Armory Crate app, which allows users to customize colors and effects. Note that it can work vertically or horizontally to increase the flexibility of your installation.
Inside, ASUS is betting on Intel’s latest processors, Meteor Lake Mobile, with several options Core Ultra 9 185H with 16 cores and a working frequency that can reach 5.1 GHz. This CPU features integrated Intel Arc graphics, but ASUS goes further and offers NVIDIA dedicated graphics with the option to upgrade RTX 4060 or RTX 4070.
As for RAM, you can equip up to 32 GB with two SO-DIMM slots for DDR5, while internal storage is covered by a triple M.2 connector for installing PCIe Gen4 SSDs.
Despite its compact size, Its connectivity is excellent.with everything you need in a list in which we find covered wired and wireless networks, a sound system with a Realtec chip and a large number of ports on the front and back of the compact:
With this configuration, ASUS says the compact can stream content to up to four 4K displays simultaneously. It will support Windows 11 operating systems, but also Linux distributions adding more usage options. Pricing and availability were not provided, nor was the company going to sell it in a barebones format. This ASUS ROG NUC looks very good, a new (and attractive) chapter for the continuity of the Intel NUC ecosystem.
