GitHub is launching its own certification platform where users can obtain four different certifications to benefit from their expertise.
The software development platform GitHub is launching a certification platform for every user where four different certifications can be acquired. While this platform was previously only available to our own employees, every user can now demonstrate their expertise in certain disciplines with these certifications. GitHub has developed a guide on the Microsoft Learn platform with various modules to help users get started.
Four certifications
The new platform includes four certifications that users can earn. These each focus on a different discipline. By earning these certifications, users can enjoy a competitive advantage as a GitHub expert. The four disciplines look like this:
- GitHub basics: In this module, you’ll start with the basics of GitHub and basic concepts.
- GitHubActions: The focus here is primarily on the automation of software workflows. Learn how to build, test, and deploy your code directly from GitHub.
- Advanced security: In this module, you’ll learn how to protect your code with advanced security features at every stage of the development lifecycle.
- Administration: In this module you will learn to set up and manage your own GitHub environment.
To redeem these certifications, users must pass an exam. This costs $200 per exam and each retest is charged an additional $200. There must be 48 hours between each test and users are allowed a maximum of five attempts.
