Almost three in four Belgians (74%) expect their everyday life to change completely within five years due to the increasing influence of AI.
A Google survey shows that 62 percent of respondents are interested in learning more about artificial intelligence.
AI is everywhere these days and the Belgians know it too. 76 percent already know about AI. In fact, 74 percent are confident that AI will significantly change their lives in the next five years. Respondents primarily expect AI to have an impact on the way we detect and treat diseases (59%), how we access information (53%) and how we learn new things (52%).
The majority are also satisfied with these prospects. 57 percent of Belgians believe that AI will lead to more accurate medical diagnoses. Almost half (46%) believe it will have a positive impact on our learning and that it contributes to a better understanding of complex topics (48%).
Economic benefits of AI
Three quarters (73%) of Belgians believe that large companies will benefit most from AI, followed by wealthy individuals (67%) and governments (65%). Furthermore, 73 percent of Belgians are convinced that AI will influence the economy in the next five years.
For example, almost nine in ten (88%) Belgians expect AI to impact their job or the industry in which they work. Of this group, almost half (47%) believe they can work faster and more efficiently by implementing AI.
It suits Google that AI is received positively. Late last year, the company unveiled Gemini, its most powerful AI model to date. Gemini Pro, tailored for developers and large enterprises, followed a week later. Gemini looks promising, but it also faces criticism because the demo video was staged.
