The launch of the Apple Vision Pro is just around the corner, but the people of Cupertino are not doing well. Early “reviews” of this kit didn’t offer a truly positive review, in fact they told The Verge they didn’t fully understand where does this kit fit in and they even arrived feel dizzy for its use. Now it’s Netflix that has been bringing bad news ever since does not plan to launch a dedicated application for Apple Vision Pro.
The source of the information is the ever-reliable Mark Gurman, who also commented that in addition to not planning a dedicated app for Apple Vision Pro on Netflix, they also won’t allow their dedicated iPad app to work on said mixed reality set. So where does that leave us? Well, it’s very simple, in a scenario without a dedicated app, it will be the only option we will have If we want to access Netflix, use a browser from this new Apple device.
This is a device as powerful and expensive as the Apple Vision Pro (it will arrive on the market with a starting price $3,499) not having something as basic and simple as a dedicated Netflix app is definitely bad news for Apple. Apple needs to surround this mixed reality kit a good set of applications that generate value, and show consumers that their product is not only exceptional because of its design and performance, but also because it has the support of industry giants.
We don’t know what reason Netflix has for taking this stance, but I think the streaming giant will rather wait to see how this new Apple project developsand how it resonates in the market before you take the plunge and invest in developing a specialized app. As expected, reports of hate towards Netflix for making this decision were not long in coming, with the company being described in ways that are nothing more than a reflection of the anger that some fans of the block had.
NEW: Netflix rejects Vision Pro and doesn’t plan on visionOS or allow its iPad app to run on the headset. Instead, it tells users to watch Netflix from a web browser. However, Apple has many other entertainment apps that sign up. https://t.co/jTmYmVzqq9
