This was reported by CNBC, according to a report from Ukrinform.
Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg said the company’s future AI roadmap calls for a “massive computing infrastructure” that will include 350,000 Nvidia H100 chips by the end of 2024.
Although Zuckerberg did not disclose how many chips of this type the company purchased, it is known that the H100 will be released in late 2022 and its supply is limited.
Nvidia is selling the H100 for $25,000 to $30,000, according to Raymond James analysts, and they could fetch more than $40,000 on eBay.
Therefore, Meta’s expenditure on these chips may be at least around 9 billion dollars.
As Ukrinform reported, in November 2023, the company Nvidia introduced a new H200 graphics processor designed for training generative artificial intelligence models.
