Ukraine is increasingly using artificial intelligence elements in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles for the Armed Forces. Machines with artificial intelligence are not as common as other drones in the Armed Forces, but it is only a matter of time.
Valeriy Yakovenko, co-founder of the Drone.ua project, said this on Ukrainian Radio.
“The use of artificial intelligence elements in drones causes drones to be used more successfully, to hit more targets and to have a higher percentage of successful hits… Ukrainian engineers are using technologies that can be called AI elements to work more efficiently. And this has actually happened in the last month It did not happen, these changes have been happening for the last year and a half, we saw the first teams working on this issue only about a year and a half ago, but as with everything, Yakovenko said, “This becomes known in war, when the information is known by the enemy, it can already be said publicly. “Therefore, we can now say that Ukraine uses only artificial intelligence technologies in its work when it comes to unmanned aerial vehicles.”
According to him, drones and kamikaze drones, which are actually a new “Kalashnikov” invented by the Ukrainians, are absolutely changing all approaches to warfare.
“This is about the whole world seeing how the situation is changing, how the use of armored vehicles, “live” force to conduct operations and wars is changing. Ukrainians invented this vehicle, which is actually quite simple and modular. The same AI technology to be used in the form of modules. But the basic, good “It’s a pretty simple device in the form of a drone as we know it. It’s probably the basis of everything that’s used now, because AI devices don’t undergo some modifications. “It’s as common as most of the drones used by the Armed Forces,” Yakovenko said. “But it’s just a matter of time,” he added.
As reported, the coalition of drones and EW was created by Ukraine and Latvia. The decision was taken during the visit of Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds to Kiev. There are now four participating countries.
