Video conferencing platform Zoom announced that it will lay off approximately 150 employees, representing approximately 2% of its total workforce.

CNBC reports this, according to Ukrinform.

“We evaluate our teams regularly to ensure they are aligned with our strategy. As part of this effort, we are shifting employee responsibilities to add opportunities and continue to hire people in critical areas in the future,” a Zoom spokesperson said.

The company noted that these layoffs were not company-wide and added that Zoom would continue to recruit in 2024, especially for artificial intelligence and sales positions.

Zoom laid off about 1,300 people last February, or about 15% of its workforce, as it prepared for “uncertainty in the global economy,” the company said.

As reported by Ukrinform, PayPal announced that it will lay off 9% of its global workforce, or approximately 2,500 people.
