Almost a month ago we told you that Microsoft was considering bringing some Xbox exclusive games to the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, and today a rumor has surfaced from sources close to Microsoft who claim that Starfield is coming to PS5and that will be enough after the release of the first DLC on PC and on Xbox Series X and Series S. It is not clear if said DLC will also be available on PS5, but it would be most normal.

Interesting, no doubt, especially since we’re talking about one of the most important Xbox exclusives today. The Starfield story is also curious because It was originally supposed to be a PS5 exclusive, but after the purchase of Bethesda by Microsoft, the situation changed completely and we now know what happened in the end, which became a PC and Xbox exclusive.

This exclusivity will be temporary as Starfield will eventually arrive on PS5. As I said at the beginning of the article, the information comes theoretically from sources close to Microsoft and has some credibility but we have to keep in mind that it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, so we have to take it with a grain of salt, because there might be last-minute changes in the end, since nothing is set.

Starfield is coming to PS5

If you’re wondering about a possible exact release date, I can only reveal that it should arrive later this year. Shattered Space, which is the title of the first Starfield DLC, is scheduled to launch sometime in 2024, so unless there is a major change in plans, it’s very likely that this game will eventually come to PS5 in the second half of 2024.

It won’t be the only Xbox Series X, Series S, and PC exclusive coming to Sony’s console. Microsoft is too work on versions of Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of the Thieves, and it looks like the latter will become the first to be announced before the end of this month of February. There may be other exclusive games coming to Sony consoles in the future, but I don’t think it will affect Microsoft’s “core” franchises, meaning we won’t see Halo, Gears or Forza on Sony consoles. .

This move by Microsoft makes me think about two things. The first is that it’s likely that Bethesda’s other triple-A games, such as Fallout, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and The Elder Scrolls, will eventually become in temporary exclusives on Xboxand the second is that this decision to bring some exclusives to Sony’s console is a wise move because it will allow generate more money with the sale of these games on PS5.
