Sony confirmed it PS5 price drops again in Spain, although it will only be available temporarily and will be exclusive to the optical drive model, meaning the optical drive version will retain its €449.99 price tag. It’s a shame, because if this model were also discounted, it would be a real treat.

PS5 is cheaper by 75 euros

An event that will only be available from February 19 to March 3, and Sony advises that this will be the MSRP, which seems to indicate that each retailer could adjust the offer slightly based on demand. With a discount of 75 euros, the price of PS5 with an optical drive would be 474.99 euros, a figure that is very close to the price of the model without said unit.

This offer is the same one we told you about a few days ago, although at the time it was only available in some areas of Europe. It will now arrive in Spain, which means that we will not have to pay shipping costs and that the savings will be greater. I can confirm that the promotion will be available on Amazonone of the most prominent and reliable sellers out there today.

Before finishing, I remind you that the PS5 Slim with an optical drive includes a 1 TB SSD, which means it has more space available than the standard version, which has an 825GB SSD. It also has a redesigned internal design and an APU built on a 6nm node that is more efficient but just as powerful.

This week Sony has confirmed that PS5 sales have fallenand that interest in the said console is also declining, so this action is not a coincidence, it is an attempt by the Japanese company to improve sales and try to improve its predictions for 2024. If I’m honest, I think that Sony should stop the temporary actions and finally apply a permanent reduction in the price of the PS5, both in the version with an optical drive and in the model without said drive.
