Sony PlayStation Portal Hacked to Run PSP Emulators and Games as reported a developer known for similar developments for the PlayStation Vita.
You already know that Sony has responded (in its own way) to the new era of portable consoles by launching this PlayStation Portal. A device based on the DualSense wireless controller, remarkable in design and features, but not what we expected: Sony is back in the laptop battle following in the footsteps of the now discontinued PS Vita and other predecessors like the PSP we enjoyed two decades ago.
And this portal does not go beyond being a periphery. It is not a standalone device and it’s completely useless for users who don’t have a PlayStation 5 console. What’s more, it’s limited to working under the same Wi-Fi network that the console is connected to.

PlayStation Portal has been hacked
Waiting for it Sony is launching a true portable consoleAndy Nguyen, (aka theflow0 and with the known development in scene PlayStation) claims to have hacked into the device and installed a PPSSPP emulator that would allow this run games on psp.
Nguyen, a Kernel Exploit specialist, has already created tools like TN-HEN on the PSP and Adrenalin or VitaShell on the Vita, and it looks like he’s done it again. He says there are no plans for a public release in the near future because still “A lot of work needs to be done”.
Note that Sony hasn’t provided information about the internals on the PlayStation Portal, but we know from the removal that it has a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon SG4150P, a 6.6 Wh battery and an Android-based operating system. After accessing the kernel, Nguyen tells us that the operating system takes up 6GB of built-in storage. It’s not what you’d expect, but it’s a good device with an 8-inch touchscreen LCD, up to 1080p resolution, and a frame rate of 60fps.
Nguyen’s work opens the door to making the controller more useful if games and apps can be run outside of its connection to the PS5 in the future.
