Dell Technologies introduces an automation suite and expands its Telecom Infrastructure Block portfolio to help communications service providers move to network cloud and simplify the management of multi-vendor telecommunications infrastructure.

Dell Technologies announces new solutions aimed at facilitating network cloud transformation for communications service providers (CSPs). New features include an automation suite to efficiently manage multi-vendor telecom infrastructure and an expansion of the Telecom Infrastructure Block portfolio that includes support for 5G core workloads. Dell is working with Red Hat for this.

New suite

The core of the announcement is this Dell Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite, a software package to automate the orchestration and lifecycle management of multi-vendor network cloud infrastructures. The suite, built on open standards and APIs, enables CSPs to flexibly manage their networks with the aim of reducing deployment time and reducing operational costs.

Dell also promises to simplify server configurations, seamlessly integrate with existing telecommunications support systems and provide comprehensive telemetry to support network management decision making.

In addition, Dell announced an expansion of Telecom infrastructure block for Red Hat, which is specifically aimed at supporting 5G core workloads at the edge of the network. The solution supports 5G core workloads at the edge of the network and Dell offers new integrations with the Automation Suite described above.

The Dell Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite will be available worldwide in April 2024, as will the expansions to the Dell Telecom Infrastructure Block portfolio. A new certification from Dell Technologies on Infrastructure Blocks, designed to confirm the compatibility of various technologies, is now available worldwide.

While the network infrastructure used to be tied to vendors with their own standards and methods, the underlying software and hardware is becoming increasingly open. Dell is trying to get in on the action.
