There was a major mobile outage in the United States this afternoon. According to media reports, AT&T, the largest wireless operator in the USA, stopped working first. Users report that the network is completely “down” and they are unable to make calls, send messages or access the Internet.

The company said it was aware of the problem and was working to resolve it.

Some of our customers are experiencing wireless outages this morning. We are working urgently to restore services.
AT&T said in a statement.

While restoration work continues, the company urged its customers to make phone calls over Wi-Fi. At this time they cannot say exactly when the network will be operational. AT&T believes it is unlikely that the cause of the failure was a cyberattack or other malicious activity.

It later turned out that a similar “adventure” was also experienced by other mobile operators. But even the vast majority were not that global.

Cyber ​​attack on Kyivstar

On December 12 last year, Kyivstar, one of Ukraine’s largest mobile operators, survived a cyber attack. British intelligence described it as the largest attack since the beginning of a full-scale invasion.

It took at least two days to eliminate the consequences of this failure. During this time, users were unable to make calls or use the internet.

According to SBU, the Russian hacker group Sontsepok was behind the attack on Kievstar.
