The Hubble Space Telescope took a photo of the globular star cluster NGC 1841, located in the Table Mountain constellation.

This was reported by the ESA observatory, according to Ukrinform’s report.

The space object itself is located in the dwarf galaxy of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), located approximately 162,000 light-years from Earth.

The LMC is a companion galaxy to our Milky Way galaxy.

Satellite galaxies are stated to be galaxies bound by gravity in orbits around a larger host galaxy.

We often think of the Andromeda galaxy as our galaxy’s best friend, but it would be more accurate to say that Andromeda is the closest galaxy that does not orbit the Milky Way galaxy.

In fact, there are dozens of known satellite galaxies that orbit the Milky Way much closer than Andromeda.

The largest and brightest of these is the LMC, which is easily visible to the naked eye in the southern hemisphere of the sky.

The discoverer of NGC 1841 is British astronomer John Herschel, who first observed this cosmic object on January 19, 1836.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Hubble space telescope took a photo of dwarf galaxy IC 3476 located in the constellation Coma Veronika.
