British automobile manufacturer Aston Martin announced that it has postponed the launch of its first electric car by a year due to weak demand for battery electric cars.
This was reported by CarBuzz, as reported by Ukrinform.
“Consumers’ demand for battery-electric cars, especially in the Aston Martin price segment, is not what we thought two years ago,” said Lawrence Stroll, the company’s chairman.
Last year, Aston Martin announced that its first battery electric car (an SUV with four electric motors) would be introduced in 2025.
However, the company has already announced that the launch of the first battery-powered electric car will be postponed until 2026.
Aston Martin’s first Valhalla plug-in hybrid supercar is expected to enter production this year.
It is stated that automakers such as General Motors, Jaguar Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz have already noticed the “challenging” situation of demand for electric cars this year and therefore plan to focus their attention on hybrids.
According to Ukrinform, British automobile manufacturer Aston Martin introduced a new sports car called 2025 Aston Martin Vantage.
