Assassin’s Creed Red not coming to PS4 and Xbox One, possible requirements

Assassin’s Creed Red, the next big part of the famous Ubisoft franchise, will be exclusive to the current generation of consoles. This means that it will not come to PS4 or Xbox One, but in exchange it will offer a number of important improvements at the graphical level, which in turn will be possible thanks to the use of a new version of the Anvil graphics engine.

This revision of the Anvil graphics engine will improve such important things as animations, the parkour system, implement dynamic weather technology, improve geometry and include global lighting with ray tracing. Sounds great, but this is all to come significant increase in minimum and recommended requirements on PC compared to the previous version.

Ubisoft has not yet confirmed the minimum and recommended requirements for Assassin’s Creed Red for PC, but it is unofficially confirmed that the game It will mark one of the biggest jumps in the franchise to dateand therefore we can expect it to be as demanding on a hardware level as most current Type A games exclusive to PS5, Xbox Seris X-Series S and PC, and much higher than Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

With that in mind, I have everything I need to give you a rough estimate of the hardware requirements that Assassin’s Creed Red will have. I remind you that the release of this game is scheduled for the second half of this year.

Assassin’s Creed Red Requirements (Estimated)

Minimal requirements

  • Windows 10 as an operating system.
  • Intel Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 3500 (6-core) processor.
  • 12 GB of RAM.
  • GeForce GTX 1070 Ti or Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics card.
  • DirectX 12.
  • SSD with 100 GB free space.

This setting should be enough to move the game 1080p resolution and medium quality at more than 30 stable FPS, if Ubisoft takes minimal care of optimization. It is important to keep in mind that the final performance can vary depending on each specific area, which is usually the case with most games today.

Assassin's Creed Red Requirements

Recommended requirements

  • Windows 11 as an operating system.
  • Intel Core i5-12600K or Ryzen 5 7600X processor (6 cores and 12 threads with high IPC).
  • 16 GB of RAM.
  • GeForce RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card.
  • DirectX 12.
  • SSD with 100 GB free space.

With this configuration, the game should run without problems 1440p with maximum quality and in 4K with guarantees adjust the graphics quality level a bit. Again, performance should vary depending on each specific area.

What technologies will it contain?

I have already told you a very important thing when we talk about ray tracing generated lighting, and it is evident that to activate this technology we will need a very powerful graphics card that has ray tracing acceleration cores. We can’t rule out that Ubisoft will eventually extend this technology to other aspects of the game, such as shadows and reflections.

The question of improving the geometry left me with an important doubt, which is that I don’t know if Ubisoft could use it network shaders. If so, the minimum graphics card level requirements would change completely, as we would need a min GeForce GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 6500 XTalthough the latter is less powerful than the former.

Finally, we would have technologies to improve performance. In this case, it is very likely that Ubisoft will support at least NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS, which are image resizing and reconstruction technologies. It remains to be seen if Assassin’s Creed Red will also end up supporting NVIDIA Frame Gen and AMD Fluid Motion Frames, which are frame generation technologies.
