Super Tuesday: Biden and Trump win primaries in Virginia and North Carolina

By chains NBC and FoxBiden was declared the winner in the primaries in Virginia and Vermont, where polls closed at 7 p.m. on the US east coast, and in North Carolina, where polls closed half an hour later.

Biden’s victory was virtually guaranteed because he faced no serious challengers.

Along with him on the ballot were the names of Dean Phillips, a Minnesota congressman, and Marianne Williamson, a self-help author who already ran unsuccessfully in the 2020 primary.

Meanwhile, in the Republican primary, Trump looks to be the winner in Virginia with 64.9% of the vote, compared to 33.2% for former U.N. Ambassador and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley with 37% of the vote.

In North Carolina, Fox and NBC They declared Trump the winner with 68.5% of the vote compared to Haley’s 28.1% with 2% counted.

Vermont, the state with the closest results in the Republican race.

This Super Tuesday, Vermont was one of the most favorable states for Haley to win.

Haley is the only one left in the Republican primary to challenge Trump’s candidacy, although she has lost in every state that has held elections so far except the District of Columbia.

Super Tuesday is the day when most states vote in primaries to elect the Democratic and Republican candidates for the White House, which this year, barring any surprises, will be Biden and Trump.
