The Security Service of Ukraine demonstrated the testing of the improved Sea Baby drone of 2024.
As reported by Ukrinform, the SBU announced this on Facebook.
“The Security Service of Ukraine exhibited the first maritime drone produced thanks to a large-scale collection of volunteers. It was organized by the fundraising platform UNITED24 together with monobank and Oleg Horohovsky, volunteers Serhiy Sternenko and Igor Lachenkov. The message stated that thanks to the Ukrainian business community, international donors and Ukrainians, 35 Almost 300 million hryvnias were collected in record time for the SBU Sea Baby aircraft.
The first sample from this batch, which the SBU showed during testing, was called “Avdiivka”. It differs from the previous generation, including in appearance. Sea baby 2024 is a new generation drone that is improved and more lethal against the enemy.
“The future lies in technological approaches to warfare. Today the SBU is trying to be the first in this direction and is actually succeeding. We have trained unique experts on naval drones in the ranks of the service in order to further develop and scale the work of clearing the Black Sea from the enemy. Our task is to destroy the invaders and bring Victory closer,” he said SBU chairman Vasyl Malyuk.
Like every seaplane model, “Avdiivka” will go through a full cycle of sea trials. During this process, the SBU development team will adapt the latest air weapons specifically designed and manufactured for use on multi-purpose platforms such as Sea Baby.
“The new SeaBaby 2024 has advanced technical features, better combat and maneuverability. It has the capacity to carry almost a ton of explosives to a thousand kilometers. SBU “Hunter” Brigadier General stated that SBU designed this drone as a universal platform on which various weapons will be placed.
SBU reminded that an attack was carried out on the Crimean bridge with the help of naval drones and a total of 11 Russian warships were hit.
According to Ukrinform, Ukrainian Armed Forces Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk said that Sea Baby unmanned aerial vehicles have radically changed the situation in the Black Sea.
