Apple is planning a major update for the iPad Pro in the form of an OLED screen. The top models also receive the latest Apple M3 chip.
There was silence around Apple’s iPad series for a suspiciously long time. Not a single new model was announced last year. Both the iPad Pro and iPad Air haven’t been updated in two years. According to Bloomberg, Apple initially planned to launch the new tablets at the end of March, but due to software problems the launch was postponed until May.
The iPad Pro is the first iPad model with an OLED screen in two sizes: 11 inches and 12.9 inches. The tablets have the latest Apple M3 chip on board. The Magic Keyboard optionally has a new design with a larger trackpad.
According to reports, the iPad Air will also be renewed in May. In addition to the standard 10.9-inch version, Apple is working on a larger 12.9-inch variant. Both models have the Apple M2 chip on board.
If Apple decides to announce the new iPad models in May, that would be a month before WWDC 24. That’s the annual peak for developers in the Apple ecosystem. The keynote will take place on June 10th. Developers have free access to WWDC.
