Meta says it will start tagging video, audio and graphic content if it is created with artificial intelligence. This will apply to content on Instagram, Facebook and Threads.
The tagging will be applied when users describe the use of AI tools or when Meta detects “industry standard AI image indicators,” but the company did not provide details about the detection system.
The changes are based on recommendations from the Meta Regulatory Board and update the 2020 media anti-manipulation policy. The old policy banned videos created or edited with AI tools that showed a person saying something they didn’t actually say, but did not cover a wide range of AI-generated content.
Meta is also changing the way AI content is moderated. Starting in July, removal of AI-generated content that does not violate other community guidelines will be stopped. Material that violates other policies, such as bullying, election interference, and harassment, will be removed regardless of whether it was created using AI tools.
Meta company as reported by Ukrinform WhatsApp is testing an AI-based chatbot and photo editor in the latest beta versions of the messenger.
