Neil Mohan explained in the article that the decision to sync the two devices was due to the fact that 80% of people watch TV with their cell phone in hand. “Looking further into this trend, we realized that not only do people open YouTube on the mobile app, but that more than 50% of interactions (like liking and subscribing to channels) happen over the phone — all while playing a video. on the TV screen,” Mohan explained.
