Ukrainian hackers linked to the SBU cyber department destroyed a data center used by Russian industrial giants. These include Gazprom, Lukoil, Telekom and leading enterprises of the Russian military industry.

As the interlocutor explained, more than 10,000 Russian legal entities kept their data in the cloud service OwenCloud.ru. In particular, we are talking about the Russian military industry, oil and gas, metallurgical, aviation complexes, as well as enterprises of telecommunications giants. These include “Ural Civil Aviation Plant”, “RUBYN” NVP, which is part of the Roseelectronica holding, “Ural Special Equipment Plant”, Gazprom, Transgaz, Lukoil, Rosnafta, “Norilsk Nickel”, Rostelecom, Telekom, Megafon.
According to sources, this was a joint operation of the Ukrainian hacker group “BLACKJACK” and the cyber department of the SBU. As a result of the successful operation, more than 300 TB of data was destroyed. In particular, 400 virtual and 42 physical servers hosting internal documentation, backup copies and other programs with which customers remotely manage production processes at enterprises.
“The destruction of the Russian cloud service was retaliation for the attack on the Ukrainian data center “Parkovy” in January of this year,” the interlocutor said.
As Ukrinform reported, since the start of the large-scale attack, Russian hackers carry out 4,500 cyberattacks every year. On December 12, 2023, the operator “Kyivstar” became the target of a powerful hacker attack, which led to a technical malfunction. Communication services and internet access became unusable.
