After adding the action button to the iPhone 15 series, Apple is expected to add another physical button to the iPhone 16 series. The new button is for the camera and is called the Capture Button. Latest puppet block images iPhone 16 Also confirm the new addition. Yanko Design created a high-resolution render of the iPhone 16 based on the mock devices and shared their thoughts to add the capture button.

From predictable buttonless design to increasingly more buttons

Apple has reportedly been trying to make an iPhone without buttons and ports for some time. However, these latest additions seem to be the exact opposite of the buttonless design. Additionally, no other Android device currently has an inspiring dedicated camera button.

According to the post, there are two possible reasons for adding a custom capture button. Let’s discuss these one by one. The first and relatively simple explanation is that there is no room left for improvements that could differentiate the iPhone from its predecessor. The capture button will do this.

We’ve previously talked about the possible features a dedicated camera button can offer. While the button can facilitate access to the camera, all functions can also be implemented using the button available on it. It’s also getting to the point where the basic features of a phone can be a bit confusing for first-time smartphone buyers.

Yanko Design points out that the second reason for adding a camera-dedicated button could be as a way to intentionally bring more focus to the camera. Apple is currently focusing on “spatial computing” in its wearable headphones. It is reported that in the future, the iPhone will take “second place”, just like the iPod did 12 years ago. Apple is said to be working on an affordable headset that would make it easier for people to try out the company’s spatial computing. Meanwhile, the iPhone could become a dedicated camera device.
