The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the public enterprise “Aerorozvidka” and the company CossackLabs on the development of the innovative UA DroneID technology.

This is stated in a message on the website of the Ministry of Defense, according to Ukrinform.

Previously, the Ministry of Defense Innovation Center presented the technology to integrate unmanned aerial vehicles into the DELTA system to NATO countries.

According to Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Transformations, Digital Development and Digitalization Kateryna Chernogorenko, this decision is unique both in terms of development and civil-military cooperation for the sake of innovation.

“We are working to ensure that the ecosystem of DELTA products fully meets the needs of military personnel. The integrated technology will help minimize friendly fire, protect more of our drones, and analyze drone usage.” remarked the deputy minister.

The technology has already been tested in combat conditions with attack drones. The use of UA DroneID allows increasing the safety and efficiency of missions, providing situational awareness on the battlefield during the execution of missions.

In the future, the technology in the DELTA system will also open up many opportunities for analysis of drone use; for example, planning which ones would be best used to attack specific targets.

According to Chernogorenko, Ukraine is the first country to face robotic warfare. Continuous technological advancement will help increase the effectiveness of drones and remove humans from the battlefield.

DELTA is a unique ecosystem of military products built to NATO standards. It allows you to see the battlefield in real time and shows air, land and sea conditions on a digital map. The system also includes messaging and streaming that allows you to communicate on a secure circuit and see the feed from the UAV in real time. The system allows you to exchange information within the unit, brigade and, if necessary, with allies.

According to Ukrinform, the Innovation Center of the Ministry of Defense presented solutions for the digitalization of NATO standards at the annual TIDE Sprint 2024 conference held in Dresden, which supports the development of military IT systems.
