Descartes Systems Group announced that it is acquiring Aerospace Software Developments (ASD), strengthening its customs services offering.

Descartes Systems Group, a company specializing in facilitating logistics processes, has confirmed the acquisition of Aeropspace Software Developments (ASD). This move expands Descartes’ customs declaration and regulatory compliance offerings.

Expansion of services

ASD delivers software solutions that support logistics service providers and shippers with customs declarations. Additionally, the company offers RFID solutions that help with asset tracking in aviation logistics. With the acquisition, Descartes will integrate these technologies into its global logistics network, helping to manage the entire shipment lifecycle more efficiently.

Ken Wood, EVP Product Management at Descartes, comments: “This combination strengthens our offering with deep expertise in Irish customs matters and an advanced customs technology platform.” This also facilitates the integration of ASD’s RFID-based solutions into our real-time tracking platform CORE BLE .”

Future

Edward J. Ryan, CEO of Descartes, emphasizes the importance of offering integrated solutions: “Our customers value the convenience of integrated processes under one roof. With ASD, we expand our capacity to offer these integrated services.”

The financial details of the transaction were also published. Descartes completed its acquisition of ASD for around 57 million euros, with most of the payments made in cash. This acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025.
