Beats Solo Buds are new Apple wireless headphones. And they will be able to compete very well with the Cupertino company’s own offer thanks to a fairly reasonable price.

Since Apple bought Beats in 2014, it has been an important part of its catalog of audio products. Apple has its own line of headphones with AirPods, but keeps the Beats line just as active and with regular updates. Although they may be presented as “less exclusive” products than Apple’s own, they continue to excel in sound quality, design and good value.

Beats Solo Buds promise a good sound in a small format. They use dual-layer drivers designed to reduce frequency curve distortion, which should lead to ka “Uncompromising clarity and detail”, according to Beats. The company describes call quality as “exceptional” thanks to the combination of a specially designed microphone and a learning algorithm.

The company claims they exist designed for a long period of use. More specifically, ergonomic acoustic mouthpieces and vents help with audio performance while relieving pressure. The headphones come with four sets of ear tips in different sizes to help you find the best choice in terms of comfort and passive isolation. They don’t have active noise cancellation (ANC), so the best fit will be your only defense against ambient noise.

The built-in controls are customizable and enable music, calls and voice assistant functions with a single or multiple presses of the earbuds. Beats also includes an optional long-press volume control option. They have native compatibility with iOS as well as Android– One-touch pairing, automatic setup and Find My Device support. Everything you need on an iPhone is built into iOS, while Beats offers a separate Android app for features like customizing the built-in controls.

Another of the unsolved problems of headphones are 18 hours of autonomy declared by the manufacturer. They include their own case, but it must be said that it does not have a battery and will have to be charged by plugging it into the USB Type-C port of the base. Function Fast fuel from Beats promises an hour of use in five minutes.

Beats Solo Buds are available on Apple’s website in four colors, black, gray, purple and transparent red, at a price of $79. They will hit the market in June and will also be available in the Apple Store and in the retail channel, where other versions of these Beats can be found, including headband models like the Beats Solo 4, which were also introduced today.
