Company SpaceX Starlink has launched another batch of space satellites into Earth orbit. The Falcon 9 launch vehicle, carrying 23 spacecraft, launched at 8:53 a.m. EDT from the launch pad in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The first stage of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle returned to Earth 8 minutes after launch and made a soft, controlled landing on SpaceX’s A Shortfall of Gravitas unmanned marine platform in the Atlantic Ocean.
As the SpaceX team noted, this was the fifteenth launch of that particular rating. It was also used to launch Starlink satellites as part of nine of the previous fourteen satellites.
The Falcon 9 upper stage sent 23 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit, placing them there approximately 65 minutes after liftoff. The latest launch was SpaceX’s 49th launch since the beginning of 2024. 33 of them were intended to expand the Starlink satellite constellation, which currently has about 5,900 operating devices.
