Palestinians commemorate in this Wednesday 76th anniversary of his mass expulsionbefore and during the war that marked the beginning of the creation State of Israelon a day marked by the Gaza offensive and the forced displacement of 1.7 million Gazans.
The so-called Day Nakba (“Catastrophe” in Arabic) remembers everyone May 15 forced expulsion or flight from their lands of some 700,000 Palestinians -most of the pre-war population- due to the actions of Jewish militias in Arab-Israeli War 1948.
Those Palestinians and their descendants who together constitute six million peoplethey live today in 58 refugee camps in the Gaza Strip, West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.
