PEUGEOT, electrification on demand

With more than eight decades of experience in the field of electric mobility, PEUGEOT offers three ways to achieve sustainable mobility in addition to its efficient petrol and diesel engines: hybrid, electric and plug-in hybrid technologies, which cover almost the entire model range. It is articulated with two 100 hp traction chains. and 136 hp

At the same time, León offers 100% electric versions for passenger cars such as the new generations of PEUGEOT 208 and 2008, PEUGEOT 308 or PEUGEOT Traveler, as well as for the entire range of commercial vehicles.

PEUGEOT’s range of plug-in hybrids is one of the most comprehensive on the Spanish market. It includes compact sedans such as the PEUGEOT 308, SUVs such as the PEUGEOT 3008, fastbacks and shooting brakes such as the PEUGEOT 508 and 508 SW, and super sports cars such as the 508 PEUGEOT SPORT ENGINEERED.

PEUGEOT’s experience in developing electric vehicles began in 1941 with the launch of the PEUGEOT VLV, a small car designed to prevent fuel shortages. 83 years later, León is in the process of launching new electrified solutions such as mild hybrid technology (MHEV). It brings together the offer of a wide range of León models, from the B segment with the PEUGEOT 208 and 2008 to the “3” series with the PEUGEOT 308 in Berlina and SW versions, as well as the 3008 and New SUV 3008 crossovers, the PEUGEOT 408 fastback and the PEUGEOT 5008 SUV. A variety that gives an idea of the versatility and adaptability of this technology, offering features that characterize the brand’s low consumption and low emissions.

PEUGEOT hybrid technology available depending on the model with outputs of 100 and 136 hp. mated to the e-DCS6 dual-clutch transmission. It offers the benefits of the ECO label from the General Directorate of Traffic, such as freedom of access to restricted areas of many Spanish cities. On paper, it offers a range of around 1 km in 100% electric mode at speeds below 30 km/h. However, thanks to automatic battery recharging during deceleration, it can drive “zero emissions” for 50% of city trips. Overall, its claimed fuel consumption and emissions figures improve by 15% compared to a petrol engine with equivalent performance.

In addition to its environmental credentials, the 48V hybrid technology is also characterized by agility and driving pleasure. Thanks to the “boost effect”, the 21 kW electric motor helps the petrol engine improve acceleration, especially at low speeds. In its hybrid traction chains, PEUGEOT has decided to lateral connect the electric motor to the thermal motor using sprockets and integrate it into the gearbox. This ensures smoother and more convenient shifting of gears and powertrain types, as well as simplified maintenance.

At the same time, PEUGEOT is taking care of its 100% electric offer and expanding it by adding models, functions and versions. With a range of more than 400 kilometers and one of the fastest charging times in its category, PEUGEOT electric vehicles are the ideal alternative for all types of journeys, thanks to the quiet, comfort and vibration-free nature of electric technology and features that provide excitement and driving pleasure. On the road, the 100% electric PEUGEOT’s thermally controlled battery can be charged to 80% capacity in just 30 minutes from a public charger or a 100 kW power station. Plenty of time to stop, stretch your legs and have a coffee or soft drink before continuing your ride.

PEUGEOT’s zero-emission offer currently includes models from all segments. From commercial vehicles with the PEUGEOT e-Partner, e-Rifter, e-Expert, e Traveler and e-Boxer to SUVs with the PEUGEOT e-2008, without forgetting city compacts such as the PEUGEOT e-208 or the mid-size sedan with launch of PEUGEOT e-308. The PEUGEOT e-408, a 100% electric version of this model developed on the EMP2 multi-energy platform, is already planned for a revolutionary SUV. will soon hit the streets: the new PEUGEOT E-3008, with a range of more than 500 km, and in future versions will approach 700 km.

PEUGEOT offers one of the most varied offerings on the hybrid market: the PEUGEOT 3008 SUV, in which you can choose a front-wheel drive version with 225 hp. or all-wheel drive version with 300 hp. a sedan with a dynamic design that brings it closer to the aesthetics of fastbacks, the PEUGEOT 508, and a shooting brake that combines performance and interior space, the PEUGEOT 508 SW. All these very diverse alternatives have in common: very low consumption and emissions levels, as well as an autonomy in electric mode exceeding 50 km – a figure that, in addition to being ideally adapted to urban and suburban routes, allows them to benefit. Zero markings from the General Directorate of Traffic.

Some advantages that the 508 PEUGEOT Sport Engineered also has is that it is a radical, ultra-sporty and electrified version of the brand’s premium sedan. Its performance is impressive and places it in the sports car category without losing its eco-car credentials: it produces 360 hp. and can reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h, while emissions of harmful substances are only 46 g/km CO2.
