US President Joe Biden, thanked “joint cooperation between the United States and Mexico on extradite” in the US to the “major fentanyl criminal” known as “El Nini”

“Today the Mexican government extradited Nestor Isidro Perez Salas, known as “El Nini”, to the United States to face justice in our courts,” the White House explained in a statement.

Biden applauded decision of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador “extradite this dangerous criminal” and celebrated this event as “A good day for justice.”

Additionally, he said both governments will “continue to work together to combat the fentanyl and synthetic drug epidemic that is killing so many people in (their) countries and around the world.”

And also “bring to justice the criminals and organizations that produce, smuggle and sell these deadly poisons” in their territories.

He is credited with “Culiacanaso”.

The United States accused El Nini “for his role in fentanyl trafficking, as well as the murders, torture, and kidnappings of numerous rivals, witnesses, and others.”

He will be sent to New York State to face charges of racketeering, fentanyl trafficking, possession of a firearm and money laundering.

“El Nini” is also charged in the District of Columbia (USA) court for his alleged involvement in the production and distribution of cocaine, methamphetamine, possession of firearms and obstruction of justice.

El Nini is credited with masterminding the controversial Operation Culiacanazo, in which federal forces arrested Ovidio Guzmán on October 17, 2019, but released him hours later due to violence by the Sinaloa Cartel.

Perez Salas’ arrest followed the arrest and transfer to the United States in early 2023 of Ovidio Guzman, who arrived in the United States after being extradited from Mexico.
