To access this feature, users need to click on the magnifying glass icon next to the microphone image in the upper right corner of the YouTube Music application.

A new wave-shaped icon will appear, indicating that the buzzing function is available. Clicking on this icon takes users to a search page where they are asked to “play, sing, or hum a song” to identify the track.

The technology behind this feature is not entirely new. It’s based on the Hum to Call option that first appeared in Google Search in 2020, and uses the Now Playing feature available on Pixel devices.

This feature was also integrated into the YouTube application last October. Using advanced artificial intelligence, the system increases song identification accuracy by matching the user’s humming to the original recording.

The new AI-powered feature listens to input from the user and compares it against a large database of songs to find the closest match.

With this update, YouTube Music stands out from other services because it no longer has a similar feature. It is currently unknown how much this will affect the interest of new users, but some will definitely consider it as a determining factor when choosing a streaming platform.
