The 5 Series sedan received the top version of the 540d xDrive with a 3.0-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 303 hp. The compact van 2 Series Active Tourer and crossover X1/X2 added front-wheel-drive versions of the sDrive20d with a 2.0-litre 163-horsepower diesel engine. 530e xDrive plug-in hybrids with 299 hp are also on sale.
The expansion of the diesel and hybrid product range was made possible thanks to the relaxation of Euro-7 environmental requirements. This allowed BMW to not rush into widespread electrification, maintaining a variety of fuel versions until fully electric analogues appear. In this way, the Bavarian brand expects to meet the demands of the widest range of buyers.
