Live Text: what is it

Live Text is a Google Lens analog that allows you to recognize photos and real-time objects and animals, detect, copy and translate text, and more.

Apple’s service is more integrated into the operating system than Google’s development. By combining its functions with other programs, it provides faster and easier information transfer. For example, you can use Live Text in Photo & Camera, Safari, Messaging, WhatsApp, Spotlight and more, and even from any text input field on your iPhone or iPad.

To use it, simply point the camera at any subject to get a phone number, email address, Apple Maps routes, newspaper text and more.

Previously, Ukrainian was not among the supported languages. With the release of iOS 16, which will take place in the fall, Ukrainian users will be able to fully appreciate the capabilities of Live Text.

Voiceover: how it works

Voice Over is a gesture-based screen reader for your smartphone. It lets you use iPhone even if you can’t see the screen.

VoiceOver provides audio descriptions of screen content: from battery charge and data about the caller to the program you’re holding your finger on. You can also adjust the tempo and pitch.

If you tap the screen or drag your finger, VoiceOver speaks the name of the item you’re holding, including icons and text.

As in the case of Live Text, this service will start working in the Ukrainian language in the fall.
