Istanbul hosted the international Automechanika-2022, which was unexpectedly massively visited by Russian entrepreneurs. But why is it unexpected? The fervent interest of domestic affairs on the Turkish coast led to the withdrawal of many western brands from our market and the increased demand for products from the automotive industry. This applies to various categories of automotive products related to the service and repair sector, the production of spare parts, components and lubricants, tuning, equipment for car repair shops, tire fitting, car washes, etc. And what we can finally expect from the Turkish Automechanika , it discovered AvtoVzglyad portal.

It is clear that with the current economic relations with the West, Turkish business has a good chance of succeeding in entering the Russian market. In addition, our car owners can already see the first serious progress in a number of popular positions and directions.

Batteries will increase

Let’s start with such a sought-after category as imported starter batteries, the supply of which has fallen sharply in recent times. This is understandable, because in the past a significant part of them came from “unfriendly” countries – Germany, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Poland, Austria. However, we will certainly not be without “imports”, as Turkish battery brands have been “monitoring” our market for a long time.

Interesting new items are added this season. For example, Taxxon brand distributors have already agreed to supply an updated line of Turkey-made EFB batteries to Russia. These are batteries of increased energy intensity, designed for cars of Asian and European production, equipped with engines with a start-stop function.

The new Taxxon EFB range features the latest in starter battery innovation. One of their key features is the unique SmartGrid technology, which provides batteries with a fundamentally new level of reliability and durability. It is important to note that all new Taxxon batteries are fully adapted to Russian operating conditions, since they were originally designed taking into account domestic GOSTs.

Tires come from Turkey

Another problematic category of car parts are tires from imported brands. For those who do not know, we recall that previously in our country there were seven factories with the participation of the world’s leading tire manufacturers.

However, more than half of them, including the Pirelli factory, with the onset of the well-known events in Ukraine and the introduction of Western sanctions, are sitting still. And this, of course, caused a clear shortage of tires and a sharp increase in their costs.

You don’t have to look far for facts. For example, prices for a set of some major modifications of Pirelli P Zero tires are approaching 200,000. What do you think of this “tempting” offer? Don’t believe me – look at the “band” Runet! But even against such an unfavorable background, solutions to the problem can be found.

It is possible that “Pirella” tires come to us from the group’s Turkish factory, and at much more favorable prices. Well, time will tell. In any case, the ‘grey’ tire importers have had long-standing contacts with their Turkish partners.

digital tuning

Great interest from businessmen, including Russian ones, was aroused by innovative developments in the field of compact computer diagnostic equipment and special devices for chip tuning. An example is the new original mobile kit from the Turkish company Nitro Mekatronik.

This electronic kit called Magicmotorsport is equipped with a special microprocessor module, which allows the master to quickly diagnose and program electronic control units not only for the engine, but also for the automatic transmission. The novelty is distinguished by its versatility, as it can be used to chip-tune most modern cars.

Oil will in any case fill up!

Of course we couldn’t resist discussing such a current category of car products as motor oils. There have always been plenty of counterfeit products in this segment, but with the departure of some imported brands, this problem has been exacerbated. That is, to find a high-quality and at the same time not very expensive engine lubricant is another task.

However, it can largely be solved with the start of large-scale deliveries of high-tech Turkish oils. As we have been able to find out, lubricants from two leading Turkish brands have already begun to arrive in Russia.

The first brand is Lubex. It is produced by Belgin, a major manufacturer of automotive lubricants. The company’s products are known in more than 50 countries. In addition to a wide range of engine lubricants, the company produces transmission oils, brake fluids and antifreezes.

The second Turkish brand is Opet. It is owned by Opet Petrolcülük, the largest national holding company for the production of fuels and lubricants. The company owns a large enterprise, which today is one of the most modern fuel and lubricant factories in Europe. It produces a wide range of engine and other types of oils, as well as technical fluids. All products have international quality certificates and are exported to more than 25 countries of the world, including Russia now.

Finally, we note that the above-mentioned car components and devices are only a small fraction of what will already appear or will appear in our country in the near future. The Turkish car industry is clearly focused on expanding its area of influence, and in this respect the Russian market is a very attractive region for it.
