The CI Games team has confirmed that Lords of the Fallen 2 is in development and will be released sometime this year 2026. They didn’t give a specific date, so it could arrive either at the beginning or end of that year, but either way, it’s not bad news because it means we’re about two years away.
Lords of the Fallen 2 is coming to current-gen consoles and PC and will be published by CI Games itself. However, there will be a PC version again a temporary Epic Games Store exclusive, bad news that will no doubt anger many fans of the franchise. Since we’re talking about a temporary exclusivity, it’ll only be a matter of time before it hits Steam like it did with the current installment.
The first Lords of the Fallen was a great success thanks to its great environment, careful art direction, high graphics quality and great integration of “Souls” type mechanics. He did not aspire to be another clone of the famous From Software franchise, he knew how to distinguish and acquired its distinctiveness thanks to the concept of two worlds between which we can travel thanks to the threshold lamp.
I had my doubts at the time because the game arrived full of bugs and showed poor optimization. I waited a while for the patch and finally bought it when it was on sale. I can confirm that it is really worth it.because it offers a truly unique and fresh experience within the “Souls” genre.
We still don’t have details on Lords of the Fallen 2, so we don’t know if it will be a direct sequel to the first installment, or if it will be presented as an entirely new game focused on telling a completely different story. What we can take for granted is this again uses Unreal Engine 5, and should have hardware requirements very similar to those of the original game.
We will know more details about this delivery as we get closer to the launch time. On a technical level, Unreal Engine 5 allows you to use Nanitewhich significantly improves geometry quality and Lumenwhich greatly improves lighting and emerges as a software-controlled hybrid ray tracing solution.
