volkswagen presented an updated presentation Golf R 2025 Like its model, the Golf GTI, the range-topping Golf R gets a new front end and a new bumper with different headlights and an illuminated Volkswagen logo.

Equipment includes sports side skirts and 18- or 19-inch wheels. The model is equipped with new taillights, as well as a black gloss diffuser and a four-pipe exhaust system. Volkswagen said the latter’s sound “has been improved to improve acoustic feedback and the sporty feel of the car.”

Buyers who prefer a sportier look can opt for the new 19-inch Warmenau forged light-alloy wheels weighing 8 kg each. This makes them approximately 20% lighter than conventional wheels and helps reduce unsprung mass. Additionally, Volkswagen said their open design helps improve brake cooling.

Customers will also be able to get the Golf R Black Edition with colored headlights, dark logos and black components such as wheels, brake calipers and exhaust tips. The Black Edition also comes standard with the Performance Package.

The Golf R is equipped with a new 12.9-inch infotainment system. The system has a new menu structure and improved graphics, as well as an enlarged screen. Drivers will get another 10.2-inch digital instrument panel. climate control and sports steering wheel with “optimized” buttons. Buyers will get ChatGPT access as well as the new IDA voice assistant. In addition to the new features, the Golf R is equipped with sports seats and faux carbon fiber trim.

Power comes from an upgraded 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that now produces 328 hp. and a torque of 420 Nm. The engine is connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring technology. This allows the models to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. When equipped with the performance package, they can reach a maximum speed of 270 km/h. European sales will start in June.
