ManageEngine focuses on identity-centric security with a new phishing-resistant authentication tool that does not require a password.
ManageEngine, part of Zoho, introduces FIDO2 authentication for enterprise applications in ADSelfService Plus. The company sees this as an important addition Identity first Security. The new tool offers phishing-resistant authentication without passwords. In addition, ManageEngine is also introducing endpoint MFA for Windows devices and an update to Identity360, a cloud-native identity management platform.
Identity first
Your identity is very valuable to cybercriminals. Stolen employee identity data is often used to bypass security systems. Traditional security measures based on network control are often not enough and require a switch to identity-centric security tools. This is where personal identity becomes the primary control point for security.
FIDO2 authentication in ADSelfService Plus protects against phishing and replay attacks and improves the user experience through passwordless authentication. In addition to authentication, granting access is also crucial. Just-in-time delivery ensures that employees can quickly access the necessary tools and documents, which relieves the burden on the IT department.
According to Manikandan Thangaraj of ManageEngine, strong identity management is essential for implementing a complete identity-first security system. As companies increasingly implement cloud services and work remotely, their digital footprint is increasing and with it the risk of cyberattacks. The identity-first principle offers companies more control over their security systems and helps close gaps in existing security setups.
