The American assembler Simply NUC has just introduced Topaz 2a new batch of its powerful mini-PCs, the restoration of which involves the integration of the twelfth generation Intel Core into three corresponding models.

In fact, we’re talking about a new compact type of device, 4 × 4 inches, in the purest style of Intel NUC Studio, but we expect the latter (up to version 12 to come) stating that yes, it’s more restrained in terms of offerings and features.

Be that as it may, these mini bathtub computers are celebrating decades since the discovery of the first models and seem to have their place in the market guaranteed, with good arguments, in addition: they are small and compact, affordable in relation to the performance they offer; and as a result, they are able to replace office and other equipment.

The new Simply NUC Topaz 2 is distinguished in three models, the difference of which is reduced to the processor that each mounts, with up to 12 cores and 16 combo fibers:

• NUC12TZi3, p Intel Core i3-1215U from $ 599.
• NUC12TZi5, p Intel Core i5-1240P from $ 699.
• NUC12TZi7, p Intel Core i7-1260P from $ 849.

In addition to the processor, all three models include Simply NUC Topaz 2 integrated graphics Intel Xe graphics with support for one 8K display or up to four 4K displaysas well as shared memory and storage options in a basic configuration, starting with 4 GB DDR4 RAM and 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2.

Simply NUC Topaz 2 is, of course, based on a base that can be greatly expanded: up to 64 GB RAM and up to 6 TB SSD storage, 4TB for the first drive to which you can add a second M.2 SATA up to 2TB of space. Other enhancements and modifications include various chassis and colors or accessories to increase connectivity.

The new Simply NUC Topaz 2 with Alder Lake can be booked now, although it will not go on sale until the end of the month and will not be shipped until July. And while this is an international delivery, what moves this innovation forward is the rapid arrival of the new Intel NUC series and compact devices of this style.
