MSI is introducing a new range of Cubi NUC mini PCs. The small desktop computers are, as usual, very compact, measuring 13.56 x 13.25 x 5.01 cm. This means you can hide them out of sight. For example, they fit behind a display, such as one from MSI itself, which can also supply power.
MSI has installed modest hardware in the NUC’s chassis. You can configure the Cubi NUCs with Intel Core 7, 5, or 3. The “Utra” is missing from the name of these chips, which means that they are actually previous generation CPUs with a new nameplate. The processors run on the Raptor Lake architecture and do not bring any major structural innovations compared to thirteenth generation chips.
You’ll also find up to 64GB of RAM and space for M.2 SSDs inside. The case is equipped with two USB Type-A ports on the front, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot. There’s no USB-C on the front, but on the back you’ll find two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two RJ745 Ethernet ports, two HDMI ports and another two USB Type-A ports.
The small computer is not a revolution, but represents a modest update to MSI’s mini PC range.
