At least Five Palestinian journalists killed in Israeli attacks in the central Gaza Strip in recent hours, leaving a total of 158 informants dead in the enclave since the war began, according to the Hamas government.

“The number of journalists killed increased to 158 since the beginning of the genocidal war. in the Gaza Strip after five more people were killed today,” the Hamas-controlled Gaza government said.

The war in Gaza has been going on for several months now. the deadliest conflict for journalistsas reported by human rights and press freedom organizations.

Israel has launched a wave of attacks on several locations in the central Gaza Strip, including Deir el-Balah or refugee camps Bureij, Magazi and Nuseiratwhich has received the harshest attacks. In just the last few hours, at least 25 people have died in the central area.

Five journalists were killed today, most of them in Nuseirat: Saadi Madouh, Adib Sukkar, Amjad Al-Jahjouh, who was killed along with his wife, Wafa Abu Dabaan and Rizk Abu Shakyan.

Madukh was Director of the production company Deep Shot Media and Sukkar, his employee; Jaju and Shakyan were journalists for the Palestinian Media Agency; and Abu Dabaan was a radio host at the Islamic University of Gaza.

According to the latest data from Reporters Without Borders, Without updates since May, at least 105 Palestinian journalists have died in the war in Gaza, 22 of them while doing their job.

For its part, the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists has recorded the deaths of 108 journalists and media workers since October 7: 103 Palestinians – all in the Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli explosions – two Israelis killed in a Hamas attack that day and three Lebanese in an Israeli attack on the border.

In addition, Israeli authorities have arrested fifty journalists, and many Palestinian reporters – also in Israel and the West Bank – have been victims of harassment, threats and online bullying.
