JetPack Aviation unveiled a prototype flying motorcycle with real flight capabilities. P2 speedr – VTOL capable of vertical takeoff and landing, with room for one pilot, eight jet engines and a range of about 640 km.

The design was made by Mayman Aerospace, a subsidiary of Jetpack Aviation. The company is seeking permission to fly from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to test the P2 Speeder. The model is the third prototype manufactured by Mayman Aerospace, which aims to develop a flying motorcycle that can participate in medical rescues, transport food, and help firefighters fight fires..

Made from carbon fiber, the P2 Speeder is modular with a seat that can also be controlled remotely. The bike is powered by eight jet engines powered by sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The prototype also has an on-board computer capable of adjusting the power of the engines to avoid accidents if one of the engines fails during flight.

According to the company, the final version of the P2 Speeder will be able to carry 450 kg of cargo, have a range of 640 km and a top speed of 800 km/h. It is important to note that although the prototype presented by the company has flight capabilities, at present the model has not yet conducted either manned or autonomous tests. It will be interesting to see if the company’s car gets FAA approval for testing in the future.

P2 Speeder lead investor Tim Draper, one of Bitcoin’s billionaires who also invests in SpaceX and Tesla projects, is encouraged by the project’s potential outcomes. “This is one of the most impressive breakthrough technologies we have ever seen and we are excited to offer a platform for its first public presentation.”

Flying cars, air taxis, now flying motorcycles. It looks like the future of urban mobility is taking its first steps to finally take off. With all the projects that are underway, at some point we will experience the first manned flights to transport people or cargo in major cities around the world in one of these vehicles.
