The poll, conducted after the first presidential debate on June 27, Biden played poorly and Trump repeated countless lies.found that the two candidates were widely considered “imperfect,” although in different ways.

An equal percentage (63%) rated Democrats and Republicans as “embarrassing,” according to the poll, which asked voters to rate several key personal qualities of the candidates.

68% of voters are dissatisfied with candidates

The poll, conducted July 1-7 among 9,424 adults, also found that seven in 10 voters (68%) say they are dissatisfied with the options available for the election.

When Democratic voters were asked to rate Biden, 37% said their candidate was embarrassing, while 33% of Republicans said the same about Trump.

A majority of voters consider the former president “mean,” with 64% of respondents saying the same about Biden.

Trump and Biden ‘care about the needs of ordinary people’

But it’s not all bad: both the president’s supporters and the former president’s supporters generally attribute positive traits to their candidate, while a smaller percentage characterize him in a negative light.

About nine in 10 Trump and Biden voters say their candidates “care about the needs of ordinary people.”

Most Biden and Trump voters also believe honest to their candidates.

Voters Say Biden Is More Honest Than Trump

However, Democratic supporters are significantly more likely to think Biden is honest (92%), compared to 77% of Trump supporters.

While an overwhelming majority of Trump supporters (96%) say he is “mentally sharp,” a much smaller share (53%) of Biden supporters say that characterizes him very or fairly well.

Who is ‘mentally sharp’: Biden or Trump?

Overall, only about a quarter of voters (24%) say the phrase “mentally sharp” describes Biden very or fairly well; more than twice as many (58%) say that describes Trump that way.

The share of voters who think Biden is intelligent has dropped 6 points since January and is significantly lower than in 2020.

About six in 10 Biden supporters (59%) like the way he’s handling things, while 36% say they have mixed feelings. Just 5% say they don’t like the way he’s handling things.

As for Trump’s supporters, only 30% like his behavior, 55% have an ambivalent opinion, and 15% have a negative opinion of his behavior. (EFE)
