British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has denied that US President Joe Biden is getting old and said he looked “in very good shape” during bilateral talks at the NATO summit in Washington.
Starmer told the BBC the meeting proceeded “at a good pace”.
“They told us 45 minutes, and we (met) for almost an hour,” adding that Biden was attentive to “absolutely every detail.”
The British prime minister said Biden had been at the forefront of “some of the world’s toughest challenges.” “He has shown incredible leadership,” he said of the American president.
Biden hosted the British prime minister at the White House on the eve, their first bilateral meeting since his recent election following the Conservatives’ defeat after 14 years of ruling the United Kingdom.
Joe’s Election Campaign Biden said Thursday that its internal data and public polls show the presidential race remains within the margin of error in key battleground states.
“While there is no doubt that there has been increased anxiety since the debate, we do not see this resulting in a dramatic shift in vote share,” an internal campaign memo seen by Reuters said.
“Our internal data and public polling show the same thing: this is still a race with a margin of error in key states,” the memo said.
