Computacenter and Dell Technologies partner with Smals to become data storage supplier for Belgian government institutions.

Belgian government institutions can turn to Computacenter for data storage over the next four years. Together with Dell Technologies, the IT service provider has signed a framework agreement with Smals with a maximum value of 147 million euros.

Collaboration with Smals

Computacenter and Dell Technologies have signed a framework agreement with Smals, an organization that provides IT services to Belgian government institutions. Under this agreement, they will advise and support institutions such as the RIZIV, the Federal Police and the Federal Defence on data storage. The contract will run for four years, with a possible extension of three years.

Bruno Neesen, Director of Public Sector at Computacenter Belgium, emphasizes the importance of this collaboration: “We help government institutions to further develop their policies regarding the storage and retention of structured and unstructured data. Speed ​​of availability and security of the data are crucial.”

Growing presence in the public sector

Computacenter has already built up a good reputation in the public sector in the Netherlands, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Now the company wants to become a major player in Belgium as well. The framework agreement with Smals is an important step in this direction.

The collaboration with Dell Technologies is crucial to the success of this agreement.
