Various cookies, cakes, snacks… We all surely have a few favorites from this brand, right?

Bride, meat Let’s take a look at the brand’s founding story.

Eti’s founder Firuz Kanatlı was born in Eskişehir in 1932.

His family ran a factory here called Komotini Flour Factory. After primary school, Firuz Kanatlı went to Galatasaray High School and came to Istanbul. After studying business administration in Geneva for his higher education He returned to his family’s factory and started working.

Later the name of the factory was changed to Kanatlı Flour Mill and Kanatlı rolled up his sleeves to establish his own company without staying there for long. He completed his military service in Terkos, Istanbul. He worked as a canteen manager.

After observing the soldiers’ demand for cookies He decided to enter the cookie business. With the support he received from his father and the bank, he set up his first production facility in Eskisehir. He chose the name Hittite, one of the oldest civilizations of Anatolia, as his brand name and made the Hittite sun his logo.

In 1962, the Eti biscuit factory started producing 3 tons per day with 20 employees.

A year later, it established a second factory to increase production capacity. In addition, Kanatlı, working with Turkish engineers, accelerated the transition to modern production techniques and automation.

In 1972 the trade name of the brand was changed to ETİ Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. In 1974 IThe first biscuit export was to Cyprus.

On the other hand, in the 1970s Ülker had strengthened its position in the market with its advertising campaigns and was well ahead of the competition.

Seeing this, Kanatlı developed his advertising strategies and collaborated with composer and songwriter Oktay Tem. “I have a riddle, guys!” prepared the commercial music.

Moreover ““When happiness is mentioned, I immediately think of the name.” The slogan was remembered and Eti’s brand awareness increased significantly during this period. In 1976, the first baby biscuit Cicibebe, in 1978 the first ready-to-eat toast Etimek and the first fibre biscuit Eti Burçak were launched.

These products gave Eti great returns in competition with Ülker.

To bring Eti’s machine design, assembly, production and comprehensive service activities under one roof in the same year, ETİ Makine Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş was established in the organized industrial zone of Eskişehir.

Again in 1980, Tam Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. was established and cake production began. Eti won the first prize of the Turkish Standards Institute in 1988 and the Alimentacion Europe and Golden Mercury International awards in 1983. In 1992, it became the first brand in the biscuit industry to receive ISO 9002 certification.

In short, Eti continues to improve and innovate itself day after day. It continued with both product quality and product diversity. In return, it has achieved many successes and is still in our lives as a brand whose products are consumed by 2 out of 3 people.
