Meet the 2025 Nissan Frontier, which has received many improvements to better compete with other models in its class. The Frontier 2025 has an updated look, improved towing capabilities, and new equipment.

The grille has been redesigned with thicker elements and three thin air vents above the Nissan badge. In appearance, the novelty is similar to the recently introduced Nissan Rogue Rock Creek. The Frontier Pro-X and Pro-4X models feature a new layer of black trim on the rear doors, redesigned 17-inch wheels and can be painted in a bright shade called Afterburn Orange.

Inside, there’s a slightly redesigned instrument panel centered around a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes on SV, Pro-X, Pro-4X, and SL trims. It’s a marked improvement over the old 9-inch screen. Wireless Android Auto now joins wireless Apple CarPlay. All trims also get a standard steering wheel that can be adjusted for reach.

The Pro-X, Pro-4X and SL add a standard four-way power passenger seat, while all models except the base S model add two-way power lumbar support for the driver’s seat. A sliding rear window and a roof-mounted sunglass holder are standard on all Frontiers. In addition, the SV gets standard 17-inch wheels. The top-level SL also gets a wireless phone charger and a surround-view system as standard equipment.

Nissan has increased the Frontier’s towing capacity to 7,000 pounds (3,250 kg). Off-road camera mode works at speeds up to 12 mph (20 km/h). Nissan has made a suite of driver-assistance technologies standard, including lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear parking sensors and adaptive cruise control.

The 2025 Frontier is powered by a 310-hp 3.8-liter V6 engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Frontier goes on sale later this summer, with pricing to be announced closer to the on-sale date.
