[Síguenos ahora también en WhatsApp. Da clic aquí] Tim Waltzthe newly appointed Democratic vice presidential nominee and Minnesota governor, called “strange” for his Republican rival J.D. Vance, and challenged him to a televised debate.
«These guys are creepy, they are so weird.“He took aim at Republicans at his first campaign rally in Pennsylvania alongside Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, echoing the adjective used about his rivals that launched him to fame.
Both Walz and J.D. Vance, the Ohio senator and Republican Donald Trump’s No. 2, were nominated to attract working-class votes from the country’s industrial Midwest belt, but the Democrat wanted to distance himself from his opponent.
“Tim will be ready (to govern) from day one. When you compare him to (Donald) Trump’s running mate, it’s like comparing the starting lineup to the bench,” Harris said at a Democratic ticket launch in Philadelphia today before about 10,000 people.

‘I can’t wait to discuss this guy (Vance):’ Walz
The Minnesota governor said he grew up among “normal people in the heartland,” unlike Vance, who attended the prestigious Yale University and “had his career financed by Silicon Valley billionaires,” he said.
“I can’t wait to compete with this guy,” said Walz, who beat Vance by 20 years.
The governor also took the opportunity to insist that Republicans are “weird,” a comment that went viral a few days ago and catapulted him into the Democratic vice presidential race because very few people knew him nationally before that.
Walz, who was a high school teacher and congressman before becoming governor, reflected on his career and said he learned the values of “teamwork and overcoming differences” in rural Minnesota.

“These are the same values that I learned on the family farm and tried to instill in my students, I took them to Congress and the state capitol, and now Vice President Harris and I are running to take them to the White House,” he said.
Walz also expressed gratitude to Harris, who chose the Minnesota governor over another candidate. finalistGovernor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro.
“Thank you for bringing back the joy,” the vice presidential candidate said, referring to the enthusiasm Harris’ campaign has generated among Democrats since President Joe Biden resigned two weeks ago to run for re-election. (EFE)
