Donald trump stated that Kamala Harris I would be easier to defeat than President Joe Biden, even though some polls showed her with an edge in the November 5 presidential election.
Former President Trump made the comments at a rally in Wilkes-Barre, in northeastern Pennsylvania, a state that matters in the election campaign.
Vice President Harris will take a bus tour of western Pennsylvania, beginning in Pittsburgh on Sunday, before the Democratic National Convention begins Monday in Chicago.
“I think she’s going to be easier to beat than him,” Trump said, calling her “radical” and “crazy.”
Trump has sought to portray Harris as far left on a range of policies. At the rally, he echoed his previous call to ban hydraulic fracturingimportant industry for the state. Harris’ campaign recently said it would not support a ban.
He also continued to attack Harris personally, though some political analysts say such comments could hurt Trump among moderate voters.
“Did you hear his laugh? ‘That’s the laugh of a madman,'” Trump said.
Pennsylvania was one of three Rust Belt states, along with Wisconsin and Michigan, that powered Trump’s surprise victory in 2016. Biden, who grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania, led Democrats to new victories in all three states in 2020.

With 19 electoral votes out of the 270 needed to secure the White House, compared to 15 in Michigan and 10 in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania could be the biggest prize in this year’s election and potentially tip the scales for both candidates.
Harris’ entry into the race after Biden abandoned his reelection bid last month has upended the race, erasing the advantage Trump had built in the final weeks of Biden’s faltering campaign.
Harris leads Trump by more than two percentage points in Pennsylvania, according to poll tracking site FiveThirtyEight.
Arizona, North Carolina, Nevada and Georgia are also among the most contested states considered decisive for winning the election.
According to new polls published on Saturday by the agency New York Times, Harris leads Trump among likely voters in Arizona 50% to 45% and in North Carolina 49% to 47%, while also narrowing the former president’s lead in Nevada from 47% to 49% and in Georgia from 46% to 50%.
A Trump campaign pollster said the survey underestimated support for the Republican candidate.
Trump and Harris have each visited Pennsylvania more than half a dozen times this year. Trump was shot in an assassination attempt at his rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. (Reuters)
