The first Ryzen 9000X3D listings are already appearing, along with announcements of new motherboards with the X870E and X870 chipsets. ASUS was one of the last to not only link to these processors, but included another direct reference to motherboards with 850 and B840 chipsets.

Both all those references appears in the link which leads directly to the ASUS pages dedicated to the AM5 X870E and X870 boards, as you can see in the screenshot just below these lines. This does not give us information directly, but it allows us to read something between the lines, namely that the launch of the Ryzen 9000X3D could be very close.

The release date of the Ryzen 9000X3D has not yet been confirmed, but the last information I showed at the presentation at the end of this year, probably between the months of October and November. AMD may even dare to launch them at the same time as the introduction of the new Intel Arrow Lake-S.

Everything we know about the Ryzen 9000X3D

Last July, I shared with you a special where I collected all the information I had so far about this future generation of AMD CPUs, and basically nothing has changed. Now it seems that it will most likely be released in October, and everything I told you remains true in the said article.

This means that the Ryzen 9000X3D will have the same IPC improvement as the Ryzen 9000 compared to the Ryzen 7000. It turns out that this improvement is less than what AMD said before the launch of said processors, as it does not reach 16% on average in games and is usually in reality in most cases below 10%.

The key in this generation will again be implementation Another 3D stacked L3 cache. This will allow the Ryzen 7 9800X3D to outperform the Ryzen 7 7800X3D in gaming, making it the most powerful gaming processor. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D will have slightly less performance in games due to its dual CCD unit configuration, as is currently the case with the Ryzen 9 7950X3D.

I’ve seen rumors saying that AMD might make big changes to these CPUs to improve the vertically stacked L3 cache implementation, but honestly I don’t think we should expect any groundbreaking news.and that eventually the approach will be the same as we saw with the Ryzen 7000X3D.
